Established in 1965, The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is made of the twelve countries: Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Venezuela. The goal of the organization is to serve the interests of its nations, on an individual basis and as a whole. Accounting for roughly 33% of the world oil production (April 2009), they are a significant market share.
